[audio]25/56 I-VII Yet Another Birthday Bash - Thadd Comstock
Acoustic microtonal guitar improvisations recorded around my birthday - April 2012. So.... what is this stuff? Is it "jazz"? Well... no. There are signs of that influence here, but I'm not sure how obvious that would be. One of those would be that these are improvised. Is it "modern classical"? Well.... no, not really. Again, there are those influences, but.... Is it "rock"? No, definitely not, although again, there are signs of that influence also...

[audio]May 19,2011- Cloudy, Rainy, Fifty Degrees - Thadd Comstock
microtonal acoustic guitar improvisations by Thadd Comstock. Most-all- of these are long- it works out that way with me. And they tend to be on the slow side- after 14 years, I'm still learning this remarkable instrument.

[audio]Changing Times Shifting Lands - Thadd Comstock
acoustic microtonal guitar improvisations by Thadd Comstock recorded April 2009. The guitar is a custom made 25 fret per octave evenly spaced up the neck instrument. This results in a very different harmonic sound from the standard western culture sonic experience.

[audio]Other Other - Thadd Comstock
Album title is actually-Other. Someone else got there first. OK. These are pieces which have ebowed microtonal acoustic and electric guitars, mini moog synthesizers, bowed metal, and tuned glasses. These are mostly separate-each piece will have one or another, but not much mixing instruments here. They're all strange, do not expect pretty melodies and the like, not here. I chase a different kind of experience.

[audio]A View Out The Window - Thadd Comstock
A soundscape- drone based, but changing; bowed metal, glasses, synths, guitars. As usual for me, it's kinda dark.

[audio]Other Stories - Thadd Comstock
These are recordings of some of my written pieces on the 25 fret microtonal acoustic guitar. Written between 2005 and 2010, the dates of composition are after the titles, if there is a title. These shade toward the modern classical tradition more than anything else, I THINK. They're definitely not folk or rock type things.

[audio]Thadds' Rainy Day Music - Thadd Comstock
These are compositions- written pieces, largely from the early 1990s to the almost present. All performed on electric guitar- me trusty Les Paul into whatever recording device I happened to own at the time. Which means some variation in sound quality. These pieces fall pretty much into 2 categories: jazzy, most of these have titles, and 12 tone "modern classical" pieces. Most of these are just identified by their composition date, cuz I have no idea what to actually call them...

[audio]A Brief Tour Of Anywhere - Thadd Comstock
....? An orchestral piece without any traditional orchestra instruments? A sonic tone poem? Just more weirdness? I'm not sure what to say about this. Starts with long glass section, then bowed metal, more glass.... The kids used to say these things sounded like film soundtracks.... to a horror movie, I suppose. They're not really intended as soundtracks, just music/sound.

[audio]Another Another - Thadd Comstock
A variety of different instrumental pieces; electronic; drone based; ebowed guitar "string quartets"; bowed metal; tuned wine glasses. A lot of microtonality, rather dark but varied stuff. Electric guitars are 6th tone- 36 notes per octave, acoustic guitars are 25 frets per octave, spaced evenly up the neck so the intervals change depending on where on the neck the notes are played.
